INNES MITCHELL is the creation of long-time friends and former colleagues Catherine Mitchell and Laura Harris, who together bring over 30 years of experience in luxury womenswear, interiors, and PR.

The idea began when Catherine moved from London to Dorset in 2022 and took up sea swimming.
“I wanted something I could wear to the beach, have a swim, then slip back on to dry off and head home — but also something chic enough for lounging or going out,” she explains. Unable to find what she imagined, she had two samples made from her own design. Friends and strangers responded immediately, and the spark for INNES MITCHELL was born.

Catherine and Laura refined the concept through multiple prototypes and fittings, reinterpreting the classic kaftan with thoughtful detailing and modern proportions.
The result is a towelling kaftan that is both stylish and practical — a garment designed for life by the sea, at home, and everywhere in between.
